William Edward Herd passed away on July 9, 2026, born February 4, 1940, to Paul and Mary (nee Upton) Herd. William leaves behind a lifetime of memories with those who knew and loved him.
William was the devoted husband of the late Lorraine Bernice Herd, with whom he shared 61 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and commitment.
He is survived by his loving sons, William David and Michael James Herd, who will forever cherish his memory and the lessons he shared throughout their lives.
William proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, a chapter of his life that reflected his dedication and sense of duty.
He found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially playing cards with family and friends. William was a complicated man in a chaotic world, yet he appreciated the simple things in life. It never took much to make him happy, a good card game, time with his son’s, and the comfort of familiar moments were enough.
In accordance with William's wishes, funeral services will be private.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
