Urban "Hank" Hankinson

Urban “Hank” Hankinson, 85, of Millersville, passed away on May 28, 2021. He was born in New Baltimore, PA to the late Edward and Gladys Hankinson. He honorably served his country in the Army from 1956-1958. Hank retired from Amoco Oil Company after 32 years of service. After retirement, he went on to work at the Naval Academy, taking care of the grounds. He was an avid street rider who also enjoyed yard work and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandsons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Anna Trabucca, Ruth Hillegass, Mary Will, Pius Hankinson, Sally Beltz and Wayne Hankinson.

Hank is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Mary; loving sons, Keith William Hankinson and Michael Joseph Hankinson and his wife, Helen; cherished grandsons, Michael Joseph Hankinson Jr. and Matthew Joseph Hankinson; dear sister, Ida Mae Hillegass; and many loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Wednesday, June 2nd, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 3rd, at 1 PM, at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Avenue, Millersville. Interment to follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
