I’m Free

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free,

I’m following the path God laid for me.

I took God’s hand when I heard the call.

I turn my back and left it all.

Be not burdened with time of sorrow.

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow, my life has been full.

Good friends, good times.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,

Don’t lenghthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your hearts and peace to thee.

God wanted me now, He set me free.

Sophie had a passion for doing for others. She loved family, reading, and traveling. She volunteered at the North County Emergency Outreach Network (NCEON) for over twenty-five years, helping people that needed help and homeless people. She was committed and unselfish with her time.

Sophie trained many volunteers. In our down time, we listened to her memories of raising 6 men, and also went way back to tell of stories of living on the farm in Pennsylvania and going to a one room schoolhouse. We loved her stories of her travels too. She could be feisty when she needed to be, but gentle and loving too. We all miss her.

Written by the NCEON family.
