Ronald W. Johnson, 83, a longtime resident of Pasadena and Annapolis, Maryland, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Born on August 6, 1942, Ron was a lifelong resident of Anne Arundel County. He grew up in Curtis Bay, graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1961, and was a founding member of the Sillery Bay Hunter’s Harbor Boat Club and Community Association before moving to Hillsmere in the early 1990s.
A licensed professional engineer, Ron studied at Johns Hopkins University and began his career at the Glenn L. Martin Company and C.D. Messick Associates. In 1978, he established Ronald W. Johnson and Associates, which he successfully operated alongside his son, Steve, until August 2024.
Ron stayed active throughout his life, enjoying fishing, golfing, playing tennis, and skiing. However, his favorite moments were spent relaxing on the boat or at the beach with his long-time love, Carol.
Ron was preceded in death by his mother, H. Audrey Dashiell (Stegman, Johnson); his father, Adam Johnson; his stepfather, John Dashiell II; his sister, Glenda Reed (Johnson); and his brother, Charles "Buzz" Johnson.
He is survived by his life partner in love, Carol Hall; mother of his children, Fran Johnson (separated); his daughter, Kimberley Krebs (Matt) of Hanover, PA; and his son, Steven Johnson (Wendy) of Pasadena. He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Heather Krebs, Ryan Krebs (Kate), Chloe Mahoney (Kyle), Bret Johnson (Charli), Max Hall, and Abbey Hall, as well as two great-grandchildren, Addison and James. He is also survived by his brother, John Dashiell III (Brook); Carol’s son, Greg Hall; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Ron also leaves behind many close friends and former employees whom he deeply cared for and considered part of his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Herrington Harbour South on Sunday, March 29, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to cureSMA (curesma.org) in support of Carol’s great-niece, Olivia, who is dearly loved by both Ron and Carol.
