Ronald Mewshaw

Ronald D. Mewshaw, 70, of Glen Burnie, passed away on December 21, 2018. Ron was born on February 11, 1948 in Baltimore to the late Thomas and Patricia Mewshaw. On March 28, 1969 he married his love, Sandra Eileen Knowles.

Ron earned a Bachelor’s degree from The University of Maryland at College Park. He was a math teacher and also worked in the grocery and life insurance industries. Then in 2004, after being Realtors for 20 years, Ron and Sandra formed Realty Market Square, a real estate brokerage firm. He also worked in the aviation and tax preparation industries.

Ron had a passion for food and cooking. He loved to try and create new recipes and then have family over to entertain. He and Sandra enjoyed doing things together such as shopping, traveling and eating out. Ron loved spending time with his kids and grandkids cooking, helping with math homework and watching their ice hockey, baseball, football, basketball, soccer games and violin, dance and cheerleading performances. He also loved to just sit and talk about anything and everything!

Ron is survived by his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Sandra K. Mewshaw; his children, Candice Sabban and her husband, Joe; and Douglas Mewshaw and his wife, Heather; his grandchildren, Drew and Brooke Sabban; Stella, Lucia, Gianna and expected baby grandson Mewshaw; his sisters, Margaret Ann and Kathleen. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Pattie, Rose Marie and Jim.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral Home in Glen Burnie on Sunday, December 30th from 4-7pm. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Severna Park on Monday, December 31st at 10am. Interment following at Meadowridge Memorial Park in Elkridge.
