Roland Davis, Sr

Roland J. Davis, Sr. died on June, 19, 2006 from a cerebrovascular accident. He was the loving husband to Gloria Davis for 63 years; caring father to Sue Gearhart, Debbie Shacklock and Roland Davis, Jr.; devoted brother to Loretta McDonnell. He was also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; he was preceded in death by his parents, Roland M. and Anna Davis.
Roland attended the Johns Hopkins University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He began working at Westinghouse in 1962, eventually becoming the Advanced Technology Lab Supervisor before retiring in 1987. He also proudly served his country as an Army Staff Sergeant, a WWII Vet, and was in the 5th Army Company while touring Italy. He obtained the Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon and World War II Victory Ribbon. Roland held many memberships as well, the American Legion, Johns Hopkins Alumni, St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Lions Club, Troop Committee Chairman of Troop 359, and one of the founding members of the Andover Rec. Center. He was also an avid Orioles and Baltimore Colts fan.
