Roger Eveson

November 4, 1946 — December 28, 2021

Lifelong resident of Linthicum Heights, Roger Curtis Eveson, passed away late Tuesday night, December 28, 2021. He was born in Baltimore to the late Albert L. and Genevieve C. Trusky Eveson. Roger married the late Constance “Connie” R. Papik in Yankton, South Dakota on September 13, 1975. Roger raised his family in Linthicum Heights in the house that he and his father proudly built. After graduating from Andover High School in 1964, his father introduced him to the pipefitter’s trade. Roger joined the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 486 where he worked for 40 years until retiring. Roger would always tell stories, with pride, of the various job sites he worked on throughout the Baltimore metro area including shopping malls and power plants.

Roger enjoyed going to coin and relic shows, collecting coins, Civil War cannonballs and antique guns. He affectionately referred to himself as Cannonball Roger. He shared his passion with his son-in-law, Jay and grandson, Andrew. In his older years, he coined himself “Silverfox.” Roger would love to build fires in his fireplace in his home or outside in a fire-pit on the patio. He also loved to light fireworks every 4th of July and New Years and would attract much attention from his neighbors as he liked to put on a show.

He is survived by his three beloved daughters, Julie Rae (Jay) Newton, Susan Lorraine Hughes and Cynthia Rae (Brian) Kim and four loving grandchildren. Roger was proud of his eldest grandson, Andrew Newton, who commissioned into the United States Navy. Roger was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 23 years, Constance “Connie” Eveson.

Roger was a man of faith who attended Epiphany Episcopal Church. He prayed often and always went forward for a blessing. Services for Roger will be private per the family due to Covid.
