Richard Sloan, Sr Obituary
On September 28, 2005, Richard E. Sloan, Sr. passed away. He was the devoted husband of Angela M. Sloan (nee Tinker) for 54 years. The beloved father of Diane C. Dungan, Richard E. Jr., Stephen J. and Keith P. Sloan. He was the loving brother of Robert and Donald Sloan, Juanita Denkins and the late John Sloan. Richard had 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Richard served his country during the Korean Conflict with the US Army and was awared the Bronze Star. He served 37 years as a Police Officer with the Baltimore City Police Department before retiring, and 19 of those years were as a part of the K-9 Unit. Richard was a member of the American Legion Post 40 and of the knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, camping and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren.
