Raymond Forney, Sr. Obituary

Mr. Raymond Earl Forney, Sr., better known as Ray passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy of love, strength, and dedication to his family and country. Born on October 8, 1944, Ray was the beloved son of the late Herbert Forney and Marie Stinchcomb.

Ray proudly served his country as a Medic in the United States Army and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. His service reflected the compassion, courage, and selflessness that defined the man he was throughout his life. Following his military service, he devoted more than 30 years of hard work and commitment to General Motors, where he earned the respect and friendship of many colleagues.

A gifted and mechanically inclined man, Ray could fix nearly anything he set his mind to. He found great joy in working with his hands and spending time doing the things he loved most. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, crabbing, attending car shows, and woodworking. Whether crafting something in his basement and backyard or sharing stories with family and friends, Ray’s presence brought warmth, laughter, and wisdom to those around him.

Above all else, Ray treasured his family. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose unwavering love will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his sons, David Forney, Raymond Forney, Jr. (Michelle), and Eric Scott Forney; his grandsons, Dylan, Austin, Ryan, and Aiden; and his granddaughter, Hope Elizabeth. He is also survived by his twin brother, Ralph Forney (Lillian); his brother, William Glenn Forney (Nancy); and his sister, Alice Dorsey, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Forney and Marie Stinchcomb; his beloved granddaughter, Kelsi Forney; and his daughter-in-law, Brandi Forney.

Ray will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his generous spirit, his love of family, and his ability to make others feel cared for and supported. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. May he rest in eternal peace.
