Patricia Ann Edwards, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and faithful friend, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of those who meant the most to her. She was 86 years old.
Born on November 21, 1939, in Pennsylvania, Patricia was the beloved daughter of the late Raymond Chilcote and Inez Chilcote (née Edwards). From an early age, she was known for her gentle spirit, strong work ethic, and unwavering dedication to her family and faith.
Patricia enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a secretary with the National Security Agency, where she served with professionalism, integrity, and pride for many years. She was deeply committed to her work and formed lasting friendships throughout her career.
A woman of steadfast faith, Patricia was a devoted member of the Bible Church of Lake Shore, where she joyfully lifted her voice as a member of the church choir and faithfully participated in The Severn Alliance. Her church family held a special place in her heart, and her quiet kindness and servant's spirit touched many lives.
Patricia found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was an avid reader who could often be found with a good book in hand, and she delighted in collecting clever "making life easier" gadgets that brought both convenience and a smile. Above all else, however, Patricia treasured every moment spent with her family. Whether sharing holidays, celebrating milestones, or simply enjoying each other's company, she created countless cherished memories that will be held close by those who loved her.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Valerie Edwards Blische and Tricia C. Canapp; her cherished grandchildren, James Collins, Catherine Blische, Adam Blische, Alexus Bowers, Philip Canapp, and Aubrey-Ann Canapp; her beloved great-grandchildren, Zoie Collins, Nova Wineke, and Ryan Wineke; and her brother, Bruce Chilcote. She also leaves behind many extended family members, dear friends, and members of her church community who will miss her deeply.
Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James W. Edwards Jr., whose love she carried in her heart always; her son-in-law, Mark Blische; her parents, Raymond and Inez Chilcote; and her siblings, Betty Rohrback, Raymond Chilcote, Charlotte Paterini, John Chilcote, Edward Chilcote, and Joseph Chilcote.
Patricia will be remembered for her gentle heart, unwavering faith, quiet strength, and boundless love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the values she instilled, the kindness she shared, and the memories she created with those fortunate enough to know her. Though she will be greatly missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her beloved husband and resting peacefully in the presence of her Lord.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services on Thursday, July 16, 2026 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A Funeral service will be held the following day, Friday, July 17, 2026 at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel.
May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
