Judith Tye Stone

July 25, 1939 — February 26, 2020

It is with the grief that accompanies great loss, that we share the news of the sudden passing of our dear Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Aunt, Judy Stone on February 26, 2020. It was unexpected for all of us, even her, as she was driving on her way to attend her church’s Ash Wednesday service. Her final desire on this earth was the intention to share in fellowship and love of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Jesus said…”I am the Resurrection and the Life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in Me will never die.”~ John 11:25, 26.

She was born in Baltimore, MD to the late Dorothy Rae and George W. Tye Sr. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her great-grandson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Dan C. Stone.

Judy is survived by her loving children, Andrew Stone and his wife, Tracey, Holly Stone and Heather Dunkerly and her husband, Todd; cherished grandchildren, Caitlin Pizarro and her husband, Mario, Courtney Litzenberger, Jessica Stone, Christian Litzenberger, Mason Piper, Brittany Stone, Chloe Litzenberger, Madeline Piper, Emily Stone, Claire Litzenberger, Alexis Stone, Megan Piper and Matthew Piper; and her adored great-grandson, Mario Bryce Pizarro.

“This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him.”~ 1 John 4:9

Our beloved mom was honestly not the same after the death of our dad, just one year ago. She missed him terribly. She kept busy with family, teaching ceramics classes, Eastern Star and church. She was so excited to have been asked to help the church once again as an assistant pastor. The night before she passed was spent helping with her church’s pancake supper, and talking with the young adults about planning worship services and her upcoming sermon series. Her final day was focused on serving the Lord and planning how to share the good news of the Gospel with others, to bring them closer to Jesus and the hope for Eternal Life.

“The saying that is written will come true: ‘Death has been swallowed up in victory’.”~ 1 Corinthians 15:54

“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”~ 1 Corinthians 15:57

Mom, your passing was so sudden, and we take comfort in the thought that when you finally saw Jesus face-to-face, you ran quickly into His open arms. Absence from us means presence with Him. We’ll miss you dearly…but you are finally with your lifelong loves, your Savior and Dad. We love you always.
