Walter (Tootie) Ulysses Jones was born in Northumberland County, Virginia on November 26, 1931 to the late Walter and Grace Rousby Jones.  He departed this life on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 after a brief illness. Tootie grew up in Reedville, Virginia where he received his education at Rosenwald High School. At a young age he joined Shiloh Baptist Church in Reedville, Va.

When he left Reedville, Virginia he moved to Baltimore, Maryland.

Tootie worked on a fishing boat at Smith Fish Factory in North Carolina and Louisiana and then began his career at the Pepsi Bottling Company where he retired in 1996.

He enjoyed watching on TV and sometimes at the same time listening to radio baseball games.  Of course, his favorite team was the Orioles.  He also liked to watch football and basketball.  He was a wonderful cook and a very neat person.

He met and married Inez Spivey.  Of that union 5 children were born:  Walter, Wade, Wayne, Wendy & Warren.

Tootie was preceded in death by his wife, Inez; Grandson, Eddie; his siblings:  Thomas, Clarence, William, Evelyn, Edward, Winifred, Joseph, Lucy, Waverly and Melvin.

Left to cherish his memory are his children:  Patricia, Maria (Lee), Idene, Rickie, Walter (Donna), Wade (Louise), Wayne, Wendy and Warren (Hattie); his sisters, Martha and Sheila; 17 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, his good friend, Howard and several associates.
