Benno Ray Wallace

On Wednesday, June 17, 2020, Benno Ray Wallace, 71, of Linthicum Heights passed away at home with family by his side.  He was the husband of Carol (Almond) Wallace for 28 years.  Benno was born on June 20, 1948, in Baltimore to the late Walter G. and Florence S. Wallace.

Benno graduated from Towson Senior High School in 1966, and then attended Catonsville Community College.  He served his country in the US Army from 1966 to 1968, before becoming the Assistant Director of Information Systems at the University of Maryland Hospital, from 1976 to 1987.  He then became an I.T. Consultant at Superior Consultants from 1988 until his retirement in 2015.

Benno was a member of the American Legion Patrick Henry Post 34.  In his spare time, he enjoyed sail boating, fishing, attending Orioles baseball games, Ravens football games, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Wallace; former wife, Mary V. Wallace; children, Dana R. Noonan and her husband Robert E. Noonan, IV, Matthew S. Wallace,  Jeremy G. Wallace and his wife Kyleigh H. Wallace, Chris L. Culver, Sean W. Culver and his wife Jennifer L. Culver; grandchildren, Madison, Madeline, Mason, Marley, Makayla, Haiden, Arwynn and Bentley.

A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, June 23, from 11am until 12pm at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, PA, 1 2nd Ave. SW, Glen Burnie.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be a rotating 40-person limit inside the funeral home, so please try and keep your visit brief, so that others may be able to visit with the family during this time period.  A private memorial service and interment will be held immediately following the gathering.  In lieu of flowers, donations are recommended to the Disabled American Veterans, online at: www.dav.org or by mail by check made payable to: DAV-Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45252-0301 or by phone: (877) 647-VETS (8387).  IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND, OR DO NOT WISH TO ATTEND THE GATHERING PHYSICALLY, THE FAMILY INVITES YOU TO WATCH BOTH THE GATHERING AND MEMORIAL SERVICE VIA ZOOM BY COPYING AND PASTING THIS LINK TO YOUR BROWSER:
