Melvin Pearson, 71, of Pasadena, Maryland, peacefully departed this life on July 9, 2026. Born in Baltimore, he was the beloved son of the late Daisy Pearson and Richard O. Pearson Sr. He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army, a commitment that reflected his strength, dedication, and love of service.
Melvin found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved spending time fishing, tending to his garden, and caring for his plants. An avid sports fan, he especially enjoyed watching football and cheering on his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. His faith was an important part of his life, and he was an active and devoted member of James Tabernacle FBH Church, where he worshiped faithfully and cherished the fellowship of his church family.
Above all else, Melvin treasured his family. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose greatest happiness came from spending time with those he loved. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he delighted in every opportunity to encourage, support, and create lasting memories with them.
In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by his siblings, Gaston, Joseph, Mary and Michael Pearson; and his lifelong partner, love of his life and mother to his sons, Jannie “Neasie” Page.
Melvin is survived by his loving children, Melvin D. Pearson, Maurice N. Pearson (wife, Aeriel) and Marlon J. Pearson; cherished grandchildren, Kimirah, Maurice, Mia, Lailah, Nazaire and Antonio; and his dear siblings, Fannie Galloway, Richard Pearson Jr. and Martha Woodson. He will also be missed by many loving nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, PA, on Thursday July 23, 2026, from 4 – 7 pm.
