Maryann Margret Tavik of Glen Burnie, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2026. Born on March 16, 1940, in Baltimore, she was the beloved daughter of the late Marie and James Werner.
Maryann graduated from St. Michael’s Business School then worked at Westinghouse before starting her family. She raised her three children while working as a cashier, predominately with Pantry Pride. She enjoyed being with children and ran a home daycare business where she provided loving care for six children, as well as all seven of her grandchildren over a 20-year span. Maryann loved her home and enjoyed decorating every season. An avid gardener, she liked spending time outside, strolling on the boardwalk, and taking day trips on Sundays.
Maryann was proceeded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Robert Stanley Tavik, Sr., as well as three Brothers; James Werner, Joseph Werner, and Robert Werner.
She is survived by her loving children, Robert S. (Alison) Tavik, Jr., Christine Oakes, and Stacey (Mitchell) Skalstad along with her cherished grandchildren, Rachael Petitt, Chelsea Tavik, Hannah Davis, Sydney Skalstad, Sloane Skalstad, Gabrielle Oakes, Gary Oakes, Jr., and five great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. at Singleton’s Funeral Home (Glen Burnie, MD). On the following day, Wednesday, June 3, 2026, a funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. at St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church (Linthicum, MD) followed by internment at Glen Haven Memorial Park (Glen Burnie, MD).
