Mary Jane Howard, age 100, of Preston, Maryland, passed away peacefully at her home on April 22, 2026.
Born in West Virginia as one of nine children to the late Frank and V.G. Graham, Jane grew up surrounded by the strength and closeness of a large family—values she carried with her throughout her life. She devoted herself fully to her role as a loving wife, mother, and homemaker, creating a warm and welcoming home for those she cherished.
Jane found great joy in simple, meaningful pursuits. She loved sewing and quilting, often crafting beautiful pieces that will be treasured by her family for generations. Her kitchen was another place where her love shined; she enjoyed cooking and sharing meals that brought everyone together. Above all, Jane’s greatest happiness came from spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leo F. Howard Sr.
Jane is survived by her loving sons, Leo F. Howard, Jr., Robert D. Howard and his wife, Diena; cherished grandchildren, Emilee Howard, Robert D. Howard, Jr. and his wife, Elexses, and Michael Howard; and her adored great-grandson, Nathan Howard.
Visitation will be held at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, PA, Glen Burnie, on Monday, May 4th, from 11 am – 1 pm. A graveside service will immediately follow at Cedar Hill cemetery in Brooklyn Park, MD.
