Martha Beneze

On August 12, 2006, Martha H. Beneze passed on. Martha was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, G. Charles Beneze. She is survived by her dear daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Edward G. Kern; her grandchildren, Tammy L. Shanks and her husband David and Tracey K. Davis and her husband Aaron; and her dear great-grandchildren, Austin and Paige Davis and Brandon and Neena Shanks. She was preceded in death by her dear brother and sister, Eloweeyn Cooper and W.E. Jackson. Martha was born in Sparta, Georgia in 1922. She then lived in Maryland for many years. She worked as a secretary for the Anne Arundel County Schools for 23 years. Martha was a member of many organizations, including the Anne Arundel County and Maryland State Retired Teachers Association. She was the president of the Crofton Women's Club, a member of the Bowie Elks Lodge #2309 Ladies Association, the North Arundel Hospital Auxilliary and the Women's Association at Harundale Presbyterian Church. Martha also enjoyed many hobbies, including sewing, crocheting and cooking. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.
