Lemuel James Wood, 76, of Glen Burnie, Maryland, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026, at his daughter's home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Ocean City, Maryland he was the loving son of the late Walter and Mary Wood.
Lemuel was a devoted family man whose greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved. He especially cherished attending his grandchildren's sporting events, always offering his enthusiastic support from the sidelines and taking pride in their accomplishments.
He found happiness in life's simple pleasures. An avid coin collector and talented woodworker, Lemuel enjoyed working with his hands and appreciated the history and craftsmanship found in his hobbies. He was also fascinated by bald eagles and never missed an opportunity to admire these majestic birds. Known for his hearty appetite and love of good food, Lemuel delighted in sharing meals with family and friends. It didn't matter what was on the table; if it was time to eat, he was ready. Above all else, he loved his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 50 years, Deborah Marie Wood.
Lemuel is survived by his loving children, Lemuel James Wood (Dawn), Jamie Backstrom (Nicholas Morgan), Nicole Revels (Aaron), Julie Snyder (Bryan) and Cassandra Lacuin (Shane); and his cherished grandchildren, Alyssa Wood, Maryssa Backstrom, Joseph Backstrom, Mitchell Morgan, Kiersten Morgan, Alex Morgan, Ashley Kost, Aaron Revels Jr., Allison Revels, Andrew Revels, Alec Revels, Avery Revels, Lilly Snyder and Lyla Snyder.
