Lee Wayne Williams, Sr., 75, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Born on March 8, 1951, in Plainville, Illinois, Lee lived a life defined by dedication to his family, service to his country, and kindness to all who knew him.
Lee proudly served in the United States Navy as a First Class Boatswain’s Mate, a role he carried with honor and pride. Following his military service, he dedicated many years of hard work to the United States Postal Service as a mail handler before retiring.
Above all else, Lee was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He shared 50 loving years of marriage with his beloved wife, Kathleen Marie Williams, building a life centered around family, loyalty, and unconditional love.
He is lovingly survived by his daughters, Maureen Gaines (Kelly), Trish Benway (Tim), and Kimberly A. Williams; his son, Lee “Wayne” Williams, Jr.; and his cherished grandchildren: Timothy “Alex” Benway, Kaylee Ann Marie, Brody Alexander Lee, Harper Vivian Lee, Charlee Rayne, Ava Kathleen, Asher Ryan Lee, Sarah, Jessica, Joshua, J.J., Samantha “Miles,” Kiel, Kameron, Matthew, Jarvis, Andrew, Christopher, and Markeisha. Lee also leaves behind his sisters, Juanita Andrews and Rhonda Lorenson, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert J. Williams and Patsy Ellen Dunham, as well as his beloved grandchildren, Christian, Anthony, Ryan, and Stephanie.
Lee found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved fishing, hunting, classic cars, model planes, wood carving, and practicing knot tying. Whether spending time outdoors, working with his hands, or sharing stories with family and friends, Lee’s presence brought warmth and laughter to those around him. He was also a proud member of the American Legion Post 34, where he shared camaraderie with fellow veterans.
Lee will be remembered for his strength, sense of humor, unwavering devotion to his family, and the steady guidance he offered throughout his life. His legacy will live on through the countless memories shared by those who loved him.
Though he will be deeply missed, his family takes comfort in knowing that his love and spirit will remain with them always.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 2:00pm-4:00pm and again from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services. A Service will take place the following day on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 1:00pm in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
