Katrina Blaine Wilcox

Katrina Blaine Wagner Wilcox was born May 15, 1959, in Quantico, Virginia to parents Edward Ross Wagner Jr. and Ava Ann Spears.

 Katrina was a graduate of Old Mill High School where she was a competitive gymnast and Pinbusters Bowling Champion. Her athleticism and competitive spirit did not stop there; Katrina was also a Junior Olympic Speed Skating 3rd place finisher, bronze medalist, and regional champion in solo and relay events.

Katrina worked as a dental assistant for over 40 years, utilizing her love for caring and nurturing people. This continued in her retirement job at her beloved Fort Smallwood Park, where she tended the gate and concession stands. She had a beautiful community of coworkers, park patrons and dogs that she cherished.

Her greatest love was family, laughter and stories, her glorious garden of flowers, her dogs, the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and her love of seafood and family meal traditions.

She married her spouse, Marc Wilcox, on September 19, 1999, blending a beautiful family of children, and later grandchildren, Katrina’s greatest treasure. Katrina passed on to eternal life after a brave battle with cancer; her sense of perseverance, humor, and most of all, love, will be remembered always.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Edward Ross Wagner III; aunt, Judy Jean Spears Rukert; and grandson, Jude Gutschke.

She is survived by her spouse, Marc Wilcox; daughter, Amanda Edmonds and spouse, Arthur; stepson, Douglas and Kara Wilcox; and stepdaughter, Cristina Wilcox Gutschke and spouse, Aaron. She will also be missed by her adored grandchildren, Savannah Edmonds, Amelia and Grant Wilcox, and an extraordinary extended family of cousins, nieces, in laws, neighbors and friends. We will take the joy and love that she shared with us all the days of our lives.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, PA, on Tuesday, July 7th, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm. Her funeral service will be held on Weds., July 8th, 10 am, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 7859 Tick Neck Road, Pasadena, MD 21122. Interment to immediately follow at Druid Ridge Cemetery.
