Karla Anne Perry, 60, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on November 15, 1965, in Annapolis, Maryland, Karla was the daughter of the late John Eugene Shaw and Caroline Lee Shaw (née Harper). She lived a life defined by dedication, compassion, and an unwavering love for those closest to her.
For more than 40 years, Karla proudly served as the Director of Human Resources at the Coast Guard Yard. She was deeply committed to her work and earned the respect and admiration of colleagues through her professionalism, integrity, and genuine care for others. Her career was more than a job, it was a source of pride and purpose.
Karla was an active member of the Ferndale Community Club and Ravens Roost 94, where she enjoyed giving back to her community and building lifelong friendships. She loved collecting angels, shopping, spending time with friends and family, and organizing fundraisers for causes close to her heart. Her warm smile, generous spirit, and ability to make everyone feel welcome left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Above all else, Karla's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, treasured grandmother, sister, and friend. Nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She celebrated every milestone, cherished every hug, and created countless memories that will forever be held close by those she loved.
Karla is survived by her beloved husband, Edward A. Perry; her loving daughters, Amanda and Alli; her cherished grandchildren, Carter, Marlie, Faith, Jaymee, Kaylee, Orion, and Oliver; and her dear siblings, Shawn, Colleen, Michael, Kelly, David, and Chris along with many cherished nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, John Eugene Shaw and Caroline Lee Shaw, and by her cherished son, Travis, whom she carried forever in her heart.
Karla's kindness, strength, generosity, and unwavering love for her family will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though her presence will be deeply missed, the memories she created, the lives she touched, and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
A visitation to honor Karla’s life will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 3:00 PM-6:00 PM. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 6:00 PM, at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., located at 1 2nd Ave SW, Glen Burnie, MD 21061.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Karla's legacy of compassion, laughter, and unconditional love will live on through all who knew and loved her.
