Karen Elizabeth Grube, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026 in
Pasadena, Maryland. Born on October 25, 1948, in Baltimore, Maryland,
Karen’ s life was a beautiful journey shaped by love, commitment, and a
steadfast desire to help others.
A proud graduate of Milford Mill High School’ s Class of 1966, Karen
embarked on a career that reflected her caring nature and meticulous
attention to detail. She worked diligently for the Social Security
Administration before lending her talents as a bookkeeper for Brook
Group Web Design.
Beyond her career, Karen’ s heart was filled with rich and joyful interests. She found great pleasure in bowling, tending to horses, and taking memorable trips to Ocean City. She was an avid supporter of Baltimore’ s cherished teams—the Orioles and the Ravens—always cheering enthusiastically from the sidelines. Yet, perhaps one of Karen’s most treasured roles was her loving devotion in caring for her two Godchildren, a responsibility she embraced with grace and love. Above everything, she was a good and faithful servant and lived everyday by faith.
Karen’s family and close friends were central to her life. She leaves behind her cherished goddaughter, Erin Kloster, beloved cousins, Deborah and Steven Grube; her sister-in-laws, Joan Grube Dyson and Lisa Meerdter, her surrogate son, Ed Bishop; and a loving circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who continue to carry forward her spirit.
Though her husband, Wilhelm C. Grube, Jr., her godson Ty Grube, her
mother Ruth Anne Meerdter (nee Rumpf), her father Gilbert John
Meerdter, Sr., her brothers Gilbert J. Meerdter, Jr. and Thomas M. Meerdter, and her sister-in-law, Martha Grube Mettee have all preceded her in passing, their memories and the legacy they shared remain deeply ingrained in those who loved Karen.
Karen’ s kindness and dedication reached beyond mere moments, touching lives in profound ways. Her joy in helping others was not just a hobby but a defining aspect of who she was—a beacon of light and comfort to those in need.
Those wishing to honor Karen’ s memory may join in a visitation on June 10, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:30. Both events will be held at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services P .A., located at 1 2nd Avenue S.W. (at Crain Highway) in Glen Burnie, Maryland.
As we remember Karen Elizabeth Grube, we hold close the countless ways she enriched the lives of those fortunate enough to know her—a life marked by love, laughter, and a legacy that will endure in hearts forever touched by her grace.
