Obituary

Joseph Lex Lowman (Buddy), 85 of Millersville, MD, passed away on March 7, 2023. Joseph was born on May 4, 1937 in Odenton, MD. He is survived by his children, Joseph Lowman, Jr. and Michael Lowman and his wife, Tina; his grandchildren, Heather Kohler (Thomas), Michael Lowman, Jr., Taylor Roman (Alexander); his great-grandchildren, Ashton Kohler, Aiden Kohler, Isabelle Roman, Harper Roman and Jonah Roman. Joseph was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances A. Lowman (nee Bewley).

Joseph started his career proudly serving in the United States Air Force. He dedicated his life to law enforcement by working for Anne Arundel County Police Department and the Polk County Sheriff’s Department in Florida. He also worked for Westinghouse Police Department. Joseph ended his law enforcement career as a bailiff for the Circuit Court of Maryland.

Joseph loved spending time with his family and friends. He was always happy and had a smile on his face. He always had a witty joke up his sleeve and you bet he was laughing the hardest! His proudest accomplishments were being a member of the American Legion Post 1 Paris, France and a lifetime member of the Marine Corps League. Joseph will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

A private funeral service will be held at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville on March 22, 2023 at 10:45 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to the Anne Arundel Co. Police Foundation, Inc.
