Joann P. Stewart, a beloved homemaker, devoted, loving, wife, and mother passed away on March 25, 2026, in Pikesville, Maryland. Born on July 10, 1939, in Richmond, Virginia, Joann was a nurturing soul whose life was a testament to love, dedication, and community spirit.
For over five decades, Joann enriched the lives of those around her, not only as a loving mother but also as a committed leader and mentor. She served as a Girl Scout leader, Sunday school teacher, and Youth Group Leader, roles through which she touched countless young lives with kindness and guidance. Her dedication to her family was unparalleled; she cherished every moment spent with them, finding joy and fulfillment in their company.
Joann’s legacy is beautifully carried on by her beloved children: Brian Stewart (Liz), Bradley Stewart (Donna), Robbin Stewart Hynson, and Gregory Stewart (Della). She was a proud grandmother to Amber Stewart, James Doukas, Tyler Stewart, Chase Hynson, Carly Hynson, Nicholas Stewart, Morgan Stewart, Matthew Stewart, Mitchell Stewart (Jennifer), and Chelsea Poole. Her great-grandchildren—Adam, Cali, Chase Jr., Sadie, Jaxon, Cade, Lainey, Harrison, Liam, Lucas, and Levi—also held a special place in her heart. She is remembered fondly by her cousin, Jean Sharp, sister-in-law, Diana Ball, many Nieces, Nephews, and friends.
Joann was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Douglas G. Stewart, and her parents, Charlotte and Clyde Prairie. Their memory lives on in her and all who had the privilege to know them.
Those wishing to honor Joann’s life may attend the visitation at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services P.A., located at 1 2nd Ave S.W., Glen Burnie, Maryland, 21061, on April 10, 2026. Two sessions will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The Celebration of Life service will take place on April 11, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Faith Baptist Church, 7378 E. Furnace Branch Road, Glen Burnie, Maryland, 21060. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
Joann P. Stewart's warm spirit, heartfelt generosity, and boundless love will be deeply missed but forever remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing her.
