Jimmie Wilson Scarbro, Sr., 93, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on February 11, 1933, in Scarbro, West Virginia, Jimmie was the beloved son of Vinton and Daisy Scarbro. He lived a life rich in family, memories, and stories, leaving a legacy that will be cherished for generations.
Jimmie was a devoted and loving father to his daughters, Daisy Miley (husband Bob) Patricia Owens, and Sharon Force (husband Garrett), and his sons, Jimmie Scarbro Jr. (wife Lesya), and Joseph Scarbro (wife Michele). He was a proud grandfather to his 16 grandchildren and adorable 17 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him tremendous joy. He is also survived by his fond brothers, Arthur (wife Kathy) and Donald Scarbro; his sister, Pauline Nelson; and many extended family members and friends.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Theresa Ann Scarbro; his parents, Vinton and Daisy Scarbro; his sister, Marcella Wriston; and his brothers, David, Jerry, Dennis, and Phillip Scarbro.
Throughout his life, Jimmie enjoyed visiting the casino, playing the lottery, restoring vehicles, and watching old Western movies. He had an extraordinary gift for remembering dates and family history, earning him the reputation of being the "family's historian". Whether recounting stories from decades past or sharing memories of loved ones, he could recall details as though they had happened only yesterday.
While he enjoyed many hobbies and interests, nothing meant more to Jimmie than spending time with his family. His greatest happiness came from being surrounded by those he loved, sharing stories, laughter, and creating memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
