Jeanne Kimery

     On March 13, 2023, Jeanne Kimery, age 82, passed away peacefully, where she was welcomed to her heavenly home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Jeanne fought a courageous battle with cancer and was loved and supported by her family and friends.  Jeanne is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Ronald Kimery. She was the devoted mother to her daughter, Dawn Baker and husband, Michael and son, Randy Kimery and wife, Michele.  Jeanne’s pride and joy were her grandchildren: Zachary Baker and wife Leigh, Randy Kimery Jr. and wife Allison, Michaela Baker, Joshua Kimery and fiancée, Alexandra Young, and Ethan Baker. She was also the proud great-grandmother to Dominic and Vincent Kimery and Charlotte Baker.

     Jeanne was born on May 19, 1940 to Beulah Metz and Henry Wiland in Grantsville, Maryland.  She was one of twelve children. Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Ruth Jacobs and Juanita Saville and brothers, Marshall, Sheridan, Charles, Willard, Harry, and Wendell Wiland. She is survived by her sisters, Karen Sines, Wanda Garlitz and Sandy Gardner, along with several aunts and sisters-in-law and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

     Jeanne grew up on a farm in Grantsville, Maryland. She was a graduate of the Maryland School for the Blind and Eastern High School. After graduation, Jeanne worked for the Maryland School for the Blind providing support to the students and also worked as a nanny to several families.  In 1962, she married the love of her life, Ronald.  Jeanne was a full-time homemaker to her husband and children. In the 1970’s, she opened a daycare business in her home, caring for numerous children until she retired in 2018.

     Jeanne had a difficult childhood. She lost her father and a brother at a young age, was burned over 25% of her body in a fire accident and was placed in foster care when her mother was unable to care for her. As a result of the physical and emotional hardships she endured during her childhood, Jeanne did not let these define her, but made her become a strong, independent and compassionate woman. Jeanne became a born-again Christian at the age of 9 and was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ until her last breath. She was a loyal member of TrinityLife in Lutherville, Maryland for over 60 years. Jeanne’s ministry was to send cards and text messages of support and encouragement to others. She was also a strong prayer warrior.

     Jeanne loved to read, especially her bible. She had a green thumb and loved to garden and shared her bounty with neighbors and friends.  She also enjoyed watching and feeding the birds in her yard, especially cardinals, which she found as a source of inspiration. Jeanne’s greatest passion was spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

     Friends and family are invited to gather on Sunday, March 19, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm & 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Singleton Funeral Home (1 2nd Avenue, S.W., Glen Burnie, MD 21061)

     A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 10:00 am at Singleton Funeral Home.

     Interment will be on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 12:00 pm at Mount Beulah Cemetery in Grantsville, Maryland (1041 Twin Churches Road, Grantsville, MD 21536).
