Howard Ochs, Sr

On Sunday, July 23, 2006, Howard Lawrence Ochs, Sr. passed on. Howard is survived by his lovely wife of 65 years, Doris M. Ochs; his loving children, Mellissa Anderson, Bernadine Smith, Darlene Conley and Howard L. Ochs, Jr.; his sisters, Theresa Brown and Mary Chaney; his brother, William Ochs; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren. Howard was preceeded in death by his son, Joseph Howard Ochs; and his brothers, Joseph, Charles, Francis, Vernon and George Ochs. Howard was a native of Maryland. He was born in Baltimore in 1920. He served in the U.S. Navy for a short while. He was then a deckhand for Curtis Bay Towing for 37 years. Howard was a member of the Church of the Crucifixion and the Lakeshore Democratic Club. He enjoyed many hobbies including playing bingo, taking photos and shopping. He especially loved spending time with his family. Howard will be missed by many people.
