Obituary

Harold Emerson Cromwell, Jr., 79, of Severn, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021. Harold was born in Providence, Rhode Island, to the late Gladys and Harold Cromwell, Sr. After graduating from high school in 1960, Harold enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He proudly served our country in the Air Force, retiring in 1980, as a Master Sergeant after 20 years of faithful service. During his time in the service, Harold served four Presidents on Air Force One as a communications technician, allowing him to travel the world. He went on to work and retired as an Electrical Engineer for Westinghouse/Northrop Grumman, working in Cryptographic Security. Harold continued to work as a contractor with Northrop Grumman until 2020. He was a member of “The Fellas” Social Club and enjoyed hosting and coordinating many events with them. Harold also enjoyed technology, watching T.V. – especially war movies, playing pinochle, and grilling. Most of all, Harold, affectionately known as “Porky,” loved spending time with his family.

Harold remains survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Patricia A. Hall. He also leaves his loving children, Stephen and Troy Cromwell, Michelle Torres, Raymond Cromwell, and Kimberly June; his cherished grandchildren, Jessica Torres, Jared Cromwell, Anthony June, Austin, Logan, and Dylan Cromwell, Nicholas June, Skylar, Kassidy, and Gunner Cromwell; his adored great-grandchildren, Jaxon Washington and Peyton Huber; and his dear brothers, Edward and William Cromwell. In addition to a host of nieces and nephews and extended family and friends, he is survived by his best friend for the past 69 years, Billy Osborne, for who he holds a special place in his heart. Along with his parents, Harold stood predeceased by his sisters, Nathalie Hareld, Bernice Jackson, and Ann Mitchell.

In place of flowers, the Cromwell family requests memorial contributions in Harold’s name be submitted to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
