Edith Lambert

Edith F. Lambert (nee Kane), 91, of Berlin Maryland, passed away on January 16, 2021.  She was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Rhoda Agnes and William Leo Kane on February 16, 1929.  She was the beloved wife of the late Walter G. Lambert, Sr., whom she married on February 18, 1950 at St. Martin’s Parish and had been together for 62 years. She was the loving Mother of Walter G. Lambert, Jr., and wife Jill; Mary E. Lambert and husband Raymond Welborn; and the late Judith A. Bartlett. Loving Grandmother of Timothy K., Joseph T. and wife Allison J., and Eric V. and wife Emily K. Lambert and Caitlin E. Bartlett; Great Grandmother of Owen K. and Quinn C. Lambert; Mother-in-Law of Ronald D. Bartlett and Sister-in-Law of Shirley G. Lambert.


Edith resided in of Glen Burnie for 54 years before moving to Ocean Pines, Maryland in 2006.  She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity and St. Philip Neri Catholic Churches and an active member of Holy Trinity Parish and Arthur Slade Regional Catholic School. She twice served as President of Our Lady Sodality. Edith also served as a Secretary to the Shared Ministry of Holy Trinity Church as well as the Parish Secretary; Secretary to the legal office of Gallagher, Evelius and Jones and Secretary to the Principal of Martin Spalding High School for 10 years. Since moving to Ocean Pines, she was a member of St. John Neuman Catholic Church. She was a proud graduate of St. Martin’s High School Class of 1947…”Together”.


As the matriarch of her family, she enjoyed spending as much time with her family as possible. Not only was she a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, but a caregiver to many. She enjoyed traveling, reading, crocheting, watching movies and sitting countless hours on the beach in Ocean City.


All funeral services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Mt. St. Joseph High School -  The Tower Fund, 4403 Frederick Ave., Baltimore, Maryland 21229
