Edith Hunt Obituary

Edith L. Hunt, 82, of Severn, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026. Born in Baltimore, she was the loving daughter of the late Harry and Catherine Morgret.

Edith enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and found happiness in cross stitch, watching television, and listening to the music of Elvis Presley, whose songs brought her much joy throughout the years. In her younger days, she loved baking and especially enjoyed taking cake decorating classes, where she expressed her creativity and care for others through beautifully made treats. She will be remembered for her strength, her love for her family, and the lasting impression she made on those who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Joe James Hunt; brother, Chuck Morgret; and her grandson, James Aaron Carpenter.

She is survived by her loving children, Cathy Carpenter (David), Joseph Hunt (Jennifer) and Angela Mason (Marvin); cherished grandchildren, Benjamin Beares, Jonathan Carpenter, Shelby Beares, Abigail Hunt, Kate Hunt, Jillian Hunt and Aaron Hunt; and her four adored great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her caring siblings, Norman Morgret and Myra McKenzie.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 14th, at 1:30 pm, with a viewing prior from 12:30 – 1:30. Interment to immediately follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to your local hospice or animal shelter.
