Earl Brookman Obituary

Earl Eugene Brookman, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, in Glen Burnie, Maryland, at the age of 92.  Born on November 28, 1933, in Pulaski, Virginia, Earl lived a life full of dedication, love, and adventure.

For 67 wonderful years, Earl shared his life with his beloved wife, Carolyn I. Brookman.  Together, they built a beautiful life grounded in mutual respect and unwavering support for one another.  Earl took immense pride in his family, and this pride extended to his sons, Kevin (Cecelia) Brookman and Scott (Ginger) Brookman, with whom he shared countless memories and adventures.  Earl was not just a father; he was a role model who instilled in his sons the values of hard work, integrity, and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.

Earl’s legacy continues through his grandchildren Michele, Matt, Lindsay, and Matthew, who were fortunate to have had their grandfather’s guidance and love.  The joy of being a great-grandfather was apparent in his eyes whenever he was with his great-grandchildren, Ayla, Axel, and Nolan.  Each moment spent with them brought Earl immense happiness as he embraced the role of a doting elder, sharing stories and imparting wisdom across generations.

In his professional life, Earl served as a manager at the Department of the Navy in Metrology, where his meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellence left a lasting mark.  He also proudly served his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Army, a chapter in his life that he wore with honor and diligence.

Earl's passions extended beyond his professional accomplishments.  He was an avid hunter and found solace in nature, often sharing his love for the outdoors with family.  His talents in woodworking and restoring trunks reflected his creativity and craftsmanship; he found joy in crafting and preserving history, which made him a true history buff.  Among his proudest accomplishments was building his own cabin on a scenic mountain, a testament to his ambition and desire for tranquility in nature.

Earl was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ora and Earley Brookman, who shaped his character and values.  Their influence was palpable throughout his life, guiding him in his journey as a loving husband and devoted father.

Earl Eugene Brookman leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and dedication to family that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.  His warm spirit, charming anecdotes, and generous heart will be missed deeply by his family and friends.  As they remember Earl, they will cherish the countless memories filled with laughter and love, honoring the beautiful life he lived.
