Doris Miller Obituary

Doris Faye Miller, a cherished mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devout Christian, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, at Hospice of the Chesapeake, in Pasadena, Maryland.  Born on January 14, 1948, in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, Doris led a life marked by dedication, warmth, and an unwavering spirit that touched all who knew her.

Beginning her career with the State of Maryland as a tax processor, Doris later found her calling as an insurance benefits administrator for Masters, Mates, and Pilots.  Her professional life reflected her steadfast commitment to service and support for others, qualities that extended far beyond her work.  Her support of the Crooked Creek Presbyterian Church in Ford City, Pennsylvania, was a testament to her deep faith and devotion to her longstanding family church.  Doris’ heart found joy in simple pleasures and beloved pastimes.  She treasured time spent putting together jigsaw puzzles with her sister Grace, and delighted in playing cards, attending cookouts, taking trips to the casino to try her luck at the slots, and shopping.  Affectionately known as “Aunt Peach” to her extended family of nieces, nephews and their children, Doris cherished these moments of togetherness and laughter which created enduring memories for all.

She is lovingly survived by her devoted son, Brian P. Wells, and his fiancé, Lisa Clemons, who stood by her side with great affection; her siblings—sisters Mary “Wheez” Huston and Grace Miller, and brother Ralph Miller. Doris’ legacy will be carried on by her dear grandchildren, Brandon Wells (Courtney), and Brittany Wells, as well as great-grandchildren Carson, Carley, and Lincoln.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Mary Caroline Walker and Owen Clyde Miller, sisters Helen Edinger, Alice “Jean” Bowser, Carrie “Tootie”Harshyne, and Patricia Miller, and brothers Clair Miller and Donald “Butch” Miller.

Visitation services to honor Doris’ life will be held on June 15, 2026, at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, P.A. in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Friends and family are invited to gather from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and again from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to celebrate the remarkable life of a woman who gave so much love and kindness.

Doris Faye Miller leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and joyful moments—reminding us all of the grace found in daily life and the comfort of enduring love.  Her memory will remain forever etched in the hearts of those who knew her, a gentle light guiding them in times ahead.
