Donald Henry Moeller, Jr., a devoted family man, skilled iron worker, and cherished community leader, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026. Born on June 12, 1936, in Baltimore, Maryland, Donald’s early years were shaped by the care and support he received at Augsburg Lutheran Home, where he was raised from 1943 to 1953.
Donald built a respected career as an iron worker with Local 16, dedicating his skills and labor to his trade with pride and professionalism. Beyond his vocation, he was known for his remarkable handiwork and love of tinkering, always finding joy in working outdoors in his yard, where his creativity and meticulous nature flourished.
His commitment to service and leadership extended deeply into his community. Donald was a Past Exalted Ruler of Elk Lodge #2266, a Master Mason, and a member of the Scottish Rite. His dedication to public service was evident through his roles as an Anne Arundel County Police Auxiliary Officer and a North Arundel Hospital Security Officer. For two decades, he embraced the role of Santa Claus, spreading joy and warmth to countless children. Additionally, he devoted 12 years as a Boy Scout Leader, guiding young minds and nurturing their growth.
Donald’s life was rich with the love and companionship of his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Shirley B. Moeller. Together, they raised children who carry forward his legacy: Donald J. Moeller (Sue), Deborah A. Bennett (Vince), and David J. Moeller (Charlene). His pride and joy extended to his grandchildren, Stephanie Davidson (Thomas), Erica Bury (Jobey), and Shelby Moeller, and to his great-granddaughter, Morgan Moeller, who brought additional light into his later years. Donald also leaves behind his siblings, Mike, Buck, and Raynett, who remember him fondly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Grace Moeller, and siblings JoAnn and Allen, all of whom shaped the foundation of his life with enduring love and support.
Donald Henry Moeller, Jr.’s life will be honored by those who knew him as a man of strength, kindness, and unwavering spirit. He leaves behind a legacy rooted in service, love, and a lifetime of craftsmanship.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Wednesday, April 8th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, with an Elks and Masonic Service held in the evening. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 9th at 11:30 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
