David Matti

November 18, 1936 — December 1, 2021

David Lee Matti, age 85, passed away peacefully December 1, 2021. He was born November 18, 1936 in Pine Island, Minnesota to Wayne and Marie Matti. He married the love of his life Barbara Ann Matti (deceased) on September 19 1959. David left Minnesota after graduating high school to join the United States Air Force. He served honorably for four years, with the Korean War beginning just prior to his Honorable Discharge. He traveled throughout the United States and served in Japan. He ended his service in Dover Delaware. While stationed in Dover, he was blessed to meet his soon to be wife Barbara.

David loved his family, traveling, especially to Minnesota, but his true love was spending time on the water and/or on the Chesapeake Bay FISHING. Since 1973, he owned his own boat and would spend every weekend he could on the water, fishing and crabbing. In most recent years, he has found a love of fresh water fishing. He was a long standing member of the Ferndale Community Club, the VFW and the Pasadena Fishing Club.

David was pre-deceased in death by his wife, Barbara. He is survived by his two daughters, Ruth and Julie; son-in –law, Ron; and grandson, Jeremy. He is also survived by his sister, Marylou (Bob) in Minnesota, and brother, Don (Peggy) in Colorado, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Psalm 23 “He is humble no matter his station in life.” As a young man, David in the Bible was given much responsibility in protecting his family. This is truly David Matti. He would feed, protect and cloth anyone in his flock. To include; family, friends and those in need. We have lost a beloved kind man.
