Cecil Dorr, Jr. Obituary

Cecil Randolph Dorr, Jr., a devoted family man and dedicated public servant, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, in Baltimore, Maryland, the city where his remarkable journey began on December 16, 1925. Born to Phoebe and Cecil Randolph Dorr, Sr., Cecil led a life marked by service, love, and cherished memories.

Cecil proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, a testament to his bravery and steadfast dedication. Following his military service, he devoted his career to the United States Postal Service as a Special Delivery Mail Carrier, a role through which he connected with the community and touched many lives with his unwavering commitment.

Outside of his professional life, Cecil found joy in simple pleasures that spoke deeply to his warm, adventurous spirit. He delighted in camping and traveling alongside his beloved wife, June, with whom he shared 76 years of marriage — a union that was the cornerstone of his life until her passing. Bowling was another favorite pastime, bringing him moments of lighthearted competition and camaraderie. Most of all, Cecil cherished the time spent with his family, especially the laughter and love of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Linda L. Sciukus; son, William R. Dorr; daughter-in-law, Betty Dorr; and grandchildren Angela, Jason, Jennifer, and Melissa. His legacy continues in the hearts of his great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Hannah, Travis, and Michael. Cecil also leaves behind his brother, Donald Dorr, who shared in the tapestry of his life's journey.

Cecil was preceded in death by his devoted wife June Lorraine Dorr, his parents Phoebe and Cecil Randolph Dorr, Sr., and his brothers Eddie and Marvin Dorr. Their memories and the bond they nurtured remain an enduring part of the family's story.
