Carol Ann Schwarzenberg

March 22, 1954 — December 31, 2021

Carol Ann Schwarzenberg was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She passed away on December 31, 2021, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Carol was born on March 22, 1954 to Billy and Inez Ford in Memphis, Tennessee. As the daughter of an Air Force veteran, she enjoyed growing up in several locations around the world and graduated from General H. H. Arnold High, Wiesbaden, Germany in 1972. Carol’s 39 years working in the airline industry moved her to Baltimore, Maryland where she met her husband, Philip, of 36 years with whom she shared two children.

Carol loved being known by many names; wife, mom, aunt, and especially Yang, by her granddaughter Bailey whom she loved and adored deeply. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband, dogs, and many friends. She also loved hosting holidays and special occasions at home where she enjoyed cooking her mother’s recipes for everyone, and especially treasured getting dressed up and hosting Raven’s Sundays to cheer on the Ravens with her family. Carol loved her church, family, and friends with everything she had. Carol was preceded in death by her parents Billy and Inez Ford.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Philip "Lee"; loving children, Brandon (Abbye) and Brittany; cherished granddaughter, Bailey Ann; brother, Randy Ford (Lorrie); sister, Donna Shoap (Robert); and nieces and nephews Eli Ford, Gwen Chambers (Bubba), Jason Shoap (Tracie), Hillary Dellinger (Mike), Billy Shoap, Christopher Ford, Kelly Ford, and their families.

It would be wrong to say that Carol lost her battle with cancer, because she never stopped fighting. Even when things were at their worst, she was always determined to remain positive. Where many others may have broken along the way, Carol stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Carol - she may no longer be here, but that doesn’t mean the fight was lost.
