Beverly Hartzell

 Beverly Anne Severns Hartzell, 79, of Glen Burnie, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to the late Judson and Margaret Severns. Beverly attended Kutztown University and graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education. Beverly was an elementary school teacher for Anne Arundel County Public Schools and a preschool teacher for Harundale Presbyterian Church. She was an active member at Harundale Presbyterian Church and participated with various groups within the church including: singing in the choir, playing in the handbell choir, the women’s circles, the mission committee and she started the Christmas Family Night. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Over the years, she developed separate relationships with each one, whether it was going the movies, shopping or attending their school and sporting events and dance recitals. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three siblings, June Jackson, Madge Craig and Stuart Severns. 

 Beverly is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, E. Donald Hartzell; loving children, Holly Anne Beers and her husband, Scott, and Christopher Donald Hartzell; cherished grandchildren, Allison Anne Beers, Andrew Robert Beers and Arianna Marie Beers; and her dear sister, Sandra Fleischer and her husband, Michael. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

 A private family graveside service, led by Rev. James T. Kirk, will be held on Saturday, May 22nd, 1 PM, at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W. Neversink Road, Reading, PA 19606. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Harundale Presbyterian Church in Glen Burnie, MD.
