Benjamin Gunter Obituary
Benjamin "Ben" Franklin Gunter, age 89, passed away July 17, 2005 at Greenville Memorial Hospital, South Carolina. Born in Wyoming County, West Virginia, to the late Wilburn and Nancy Tilley Gunter. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Gertrude Cecelia Sneade Gunter.
A graduate of Pineville High, WVa., he was employed as a longshoreman for S.T.A.I., L.A. for 39 years in Baltimore before retiring. His passions included gardening, hunting and coin collecting. He was not a selfish man. Ben loved his neighbors and often gave them food from his garden. He was a loving, caring husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed greatly.
Ben is survived by his loving children Linda Ritter, Donna Rutherford and her husband Carl, Jim Gunter and his wife Mary and his caring sisters Dorothy Webb and Laura Polk. Ben was the proud grandfather of 9 and great-grandfather of 19. He was predeceased by 10 brothers and two sisters. Ben is also survived by many other loving family members and friends.
