Barbara Payer

On November 19, 2005, Barbara A. Payer passed away after a courageous battle with leukemia. Devoted wife of Stephen F. Payer for 43 years; Caring daughter of Sophie Salvaterra and the late George Salvaterra; Beloved mother of Dolores E. Cohen, Stephanie A. Payer Forgo, Stephen F. Payer IV and George C. Payer; Loving sister of Dolores Shamblin and Mercedes Diamond; Loving niece of Virginia Fellin; Cherished grandmother of 2 and step-grandmother of 1. Barbara graduated from the Woman's Hospital in Philadelphia with a Registered Nursing degree. She worked for 18 years at North Arundel Hospital in Glen Burnie before she retired. She was a member of the Woman's Club of Linthicum Heights. Barbara enjoyed cooking, ceramics, crafts, painting and playing the piano. She was an avid reader, enjoyed discussing politics and also loved animals, especially her dogs. More than anything, Barbara cherished the time she spent with her family and her grandchildren.
