Anna Catherine Martin, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 21, 2026, in Baltimore, Maryland. She was 92 years old.
Born on March 18, 1934, in Catawissa, Pennsylvania. Anna lived a life rooted in faith, family, and kindness. She was the devoted wife of Robert J. Martin, with whom she shared 53 loving years of marriage until his passing. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for their family.
Anna is lovingly survived by her daughters, Annette Martin Anthony (Mark), Suzanne Martin Rafferty (Kevin), and Lisa Martin Bland (David). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Molly Rafferty (Jon Gurskey), Jonathan Anthony (Kali Anthony), Nathaniel Anthony, Olivia Bland, and Lukas Bland. Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Charlotte Mae Anthony and Austin William Anthony, who brought endless smiles to her later years.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert and her siblings Steven, Mary, Olga, Joe, and Helen.
Anna worked for many years at a local dress factory in Mount Carmel, where she took great pride in her work ethic and craftsmanship. Yet above all else, her greatest pride and deepest love were reserved for her family and her church community. Her faith guided her throughout her life and was reflected in the compassion and warmth she showed to everyone around her as well as praying for everyone. She also enjoyed sewing, drawing, gardening and cooking.
Some of Anna’s happiest moments were the simple ones — gathering with loved ones, attending church faithfully, and enjoying breakfast outings afterward with family and friends. She treasured those traditions and the togetherness they brought.
Anna will be remembered for her gentle spirit, steadfast faith, caring heart, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished so deeply and in the countless memories shared by those who knew and loved her. She will be dearly missed and forever held in the hearts of her family and friends.
