William Norris Hubbard

         On Saturday, April 13, 2024, William N. Hubbard, (98) of Crofton, MD, formerly of Linthicum, MD passed away peacefully. He was born and raised in Baltimore, although he did move around the country. He attended private schools and private colleges in Georgia and Maryland. He was a Language Arts instructor in the Anne Arundel County public school system. He managed a paper mill representative business for many years.

      William married Amy Wellham and they lived in Linthicum, MD for most of their lives.

      William raised a large amount of money for the American Red Cross. He also enjoyed speaking to the US Congress about a program they had for seniors. He was one of the founding members of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church and a soloist there for 35 years. He spent his final years at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Crofton.

      William loved ones and friends will miss his kindness and humor.

      William is survived by a niece, Anne Hubbard; nephew, Brian Hubbard; great-niece, Dani (Noah), and a great-great-nephew Flynn. William was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin B. Hubbard, Sr.  and Lillian F. Christopher; his wife, Amy Wellham Hubbard; and brother, Calvin B. Hubbard, Jr.

         Family and friends are invited to gather at the Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, PA, 1 2^nd Avenue, SW, (at Crain Highway), Glen Burnie, MD 21061 on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at St. John Lutheran Church, 300 W. Maple Road, Linthicum, MD 21090 at 10:30 am. His Graveside Service and interment will follow at Loudon Park Cemetery, Baltimore, MD. If desired, Memorial Contributions may be made in his name to the Lions Club International Eyeglasses Donation.
