William Michael Garrity

December 16, 1933 — March 24, 2024

William Michael Garrity, known to his loved ones as "Mike," passed away in Glen Burnie, Maryland, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, love, and intelligence.  Born in Baltimore, Maryland, on December 16th, 1933, Mike's life was a tapestry woven with compassion and wisdom.

During his career as an accountant, Mike showcased not only his proficiency with numbers but also his ability to connect and empathize with those around him.  His colleagues often sought his guidance not just in work matters but also in personal ones, a testament to his gentle and caring nature.

Outside of the office, Mike found solace and joy in simple pleasures.  A fanatic of the Orioles and Ravens, he could always be found cheering enthusiastically for his favorite teams.  In quieter moments, he immersed himself in the world of books, finding escape and enlightenment within the pages of countless stories.  Mike was a devout Catholic, having graduated from Mount Saint Joseph High School, he worshipped and volunteered at Our Lady of the Fields in Millersville.

Mike's family was at the center of his universe.  He now joins his parents, Julia and Elmer Garrity and step-son, Steven Hasse, in eternal peace.  His memory will forever be cherished by his wife Norma J. Garrity, his daughters Marta Brown and Michelle Howman, as well as his sister Julia Wilt.  Additionally, Mike is survived by a blended family that includes step-children Shannon Huston, Debra Zimmerman, and Daniel Dansberger.  His presence will be greatly missed by numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

In every interaction and relationship, Mike's innate goodness shone brightly.  His legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have known him.  May he rest in peace knowing that he made the world a kinder place through his presence.
