Wayne Miller

December 30, 1945 — November 8, 2022

Wayne Louis Miller, 76, of Millersville, passed away on November 8, 2022. He was born in Baltimore to the late Henry and Norma Proescher Miller. While in high school, he enlisted in the Navy in 1963. During his service, he served on two submarines, the Clamagore SS343 and the Piper SS409. He retired in 1990 after 29 years of service to his country. Wayne worked for the Naval Photographic Center as a media specialist for many years. He belonged to the Baltimore’s Best Classic Chevy Club and also attended many reunions for the submarines on which he served. He enjoyed classic cars, coin collecting and was an avid football and baseball fan. Wayne also had a love of cats, especially to his own, Annie and Callie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Donna Ward Miller; loving son, David Miller; and cherished great-grandchildren, Kohen and Emris Varney.

Wayne is survived by his loving children, Robert Miller and his wife, Tina, Gaye-Lea Miller Pleiman and her husband, Leo, and Karen Jones Riley and her husband, Pat; beloved grandchildren, Daniel Miller, Nick Miller, Amanda Speicher Carper and her husband, Nate, Katherine Speicher, Tyler Speicher, Rebecca Speicher, Samantha Miller-Riley Varney and her husband, Josiah, Amber Hale and Roman Pleiman; and his dear friend, Patricia Thornberry.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Monday, November 21st, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, 10 AM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park. Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made in his name to the American Heart Association by visiting www.heart.org
