Ulysses Ellis Williams, Jr., 80 of Glen Burnie passed away at his home on July 20, 2024 surrounded by his family. Ulysses was born on May 12, 1944 in Chester, PA to the late Ulysses E. Williams, Sr. and Mary E. Ellis Williams. Ulysses dedicated 25 years of his life to the craft of brick masonry, showcasing his skills and craftsmanship in every project he undertook. Following his passion for building and maintaining structures, he transitioned to a rewarding career as Chief Custodian with Anne Arundel County Public Schools / Ferndale Elementary for over 30 years. His commitment to ensuring safe and functional educational environments left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Outside of his professional life, Ulysses had a variety of hobbies and interests that brought him immense joy. He had a deep appreciation for antique cars and tractors, finding solace in the nostalgia they evoked. He also found peace by the water while fishing and took pride in cultivating beautiful gardens. In his leisure time, he could often be found strumming his guitar or adding to his collection of unique bottles. He was an avid Baltimore Ravens fan and he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Ulysses will be deeply missed by his surviving family members, including his cherished wife, children, grandchildren, and extended relatives. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Magdalene Eunice Williams; his devoted sons, Ulysses E. Williams, III and his wife Linda; and Kevin R. Williams and his wife, Valerie; his loving grandchildren, Tiffany Livingston and her husband, David; Ulysses Williams IV, Mya Williams and Myles Williams; his great-grandchildren, David Livingston III, and Mackenzie Livingston.
In honoring the memory of Ulysses Ellis Williams, Jr., we celebrate a life well-lived, a life filled with love, dedication, and countless treasured moments that will be forever remembered.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Monday, July 29th from 4-7 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 30th at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Saints Rest Cemetery, Hanover, MD. May he rest in peace.
