Thomas Lee Reed, 85, passed away peacefully at his home in Annapolis on October 28, 2024 with his daughters by his side. He was born on March 23, 1939, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Eleanor and Garnett Reed. He graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1956 and later earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Baltimore. He began his 40- year career at B&O Railroad and then CSX in the mailroom, working his way up to management. Thomas was very active in his church in retirement, Community United Methodist Church in Crofton, and was a leader on various committees. He was also an active volunteer of the Caring Ministry in his community of Heritage Harbor. He enjoyed fishing whether in his boat or in a stream, shooting pool, traveling and being out in nature. But most of all, he loved spending time with his treasured family.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was predeceased by his devoted wife of 53 years, Eileen M. Reed. He is survived by his loving daughters, Kelly Rogers and Stacey (Stephen) Fennell; his beloved grandchildren, Megan (Josh), Rachel (William), and David; his cherished great-granddaughters, Heidi and Elsie. He is also survived by many extended family, nieces, nephews and friends.
The Reed family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. S.W. (at Crain Hwy) on Friday, November 1, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 2, at Community United Methodist Church, 1690 Riedel Rd, Crofton, MD 21114, at 10 AM, with an hour visitation prior, from 9-10 AM. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
