Thomas William Defibaugh, Sr.

February 6, 1953 — December 3, 2025

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas William Defibaugh, Sr., who departed this life on December 3, 2025, in Centreville, Maryland.  Born on February 6, 1953, in Keyser, West Virginia, Thomas was a loving father, devoted grandfather, and cherished brother.

A life well-lived, Thomas dedicated his professional years to serving as an Animal Control Officer for Anne Arundel County, where he focused on the care and welfare of animals in need.  His passion for the outdoors reflected deeply in his personal life as he found joy in hunting and fishing, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and share unforgettable moments with family and friends.  He was also an avid bowler, a pursuit that brought him much happiness and camaraderie.

Thomas proudly served his country as a Seaman in the U.S. Navy from 1972 to 1975.  His honorable service is a testament to his commitment, bravery, and love for his nation.  These traits transcended into his interactions with loved ones and the community, where he often lent a helping hand.

He leaves behind his beloved son William H. Defibaugh, and his second son, Thomas W. Defibaugh, Jr., and his wife Jennifer.  Thomas was a proud grandfather to Anthony, Destiny, Will, Tabitha, and Debroah, and was filled with joy by the presence of his great-grandchildren, Rosie, Jackson, Harley, and Olivia.  His bond with them will be forever cherished, as they carry on his legacy of love and kindness.  He is also survived by his beloved sister, Darlene, who will hold dear the memories shared together as siblings.

Thomas was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Carol Ann Defibaugh, who remains forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved them.  He also mourns the loss of his grandson, Hunter Defibaugh, as well as his parents, Marie and William Defibaugh.

A visitation to celebrate and honor Thomas's memory will be held on December 18, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services P.A., located at 1 2nd Ave S.W., Glen Burnie, MD 21061.  Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will commence at the same location at 1:00 PM.

Thomas William Defibaugh, Sr.'s spirit lives on through the countless lives he touched and the enduring love he fostered.  He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
