Terence Leon Daugherty, affectionately known as Terry, departed this life on August 5, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on August 26, 1943, in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Winston and Mildred Daugherty, Terence lived a life marked by dedicated service, family devotion, and a profound love for the outdoors.

Terry proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1969, a period that instilled in him a sense of duty and pride that echoed throughout his life. Following his military service, he established a successful career as an Alarm Technician with ADT Alarm Company, where he utilized his skills to ensure the safety and security of homes and businesses alike.

Terry was a devoted family man, cherished by his beloved wife of 60 years, Margaret F. Daugherty. Together, they nurtured a loving home for their children, Michael L. Daugherty and Deborah F. Christopher, and her husband, Michael. He found immense joy in the accomplishments of his grandsons, Matthew L. Daugherty, Noah P. Christopher, and Seth R. Christopher. As a great-grandfather to Madison Daugherty. Terry is also survived by his brother, Brian Daugherty, and his wife, Patricia. The bonds he forged with his family and the memories created throughout his years will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Terry's legacy will continue through the generations he inspired.

Outside of his professional life, Terry was an active member of the Kent Island American Legion Post 278, where he found camaraderie and connection with fellow veterans. His passion for the outdoors was evident in his many hobbies, which included fishing, hunting, crabbing, and gardening. These pursuits brought him not only joy but also peace, as he immersed himself in nature’s beauty.

As we reflect on the life of Terence Leon Daugherty, we remember a man who exemplified dedication to his family, community, and country. His warmth, laughter, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
