Shirley J. Jenkins, 84 of Pasadena passed away on July 9, 2024. Shirley was born on December 26, 1939 in Frostburg, Maryland to the late George and Elsie Capel. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Randolph “Randy” W. Jenkins; and her siblings, Alice Winter, James, George and William Capel. She is survived by her sisters, Betty Glaze, Patricia Scott, Mary Grant and Martha Delawder; her grandchildren, Kaleb Jenkins, Alias Jenkins and Christiana Stauffer; and her great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Wendy, Archer, Kallie and Alias, Jr.
Shirley's proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly her role as a Minister for the Salvation Army. She was stationed at various locations over the years, bringing support to countless individuals. Her passion for helping others was truly inspiring, and she made a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She also worked for Food Lion and B.G. Green. Aside from her dedication to ministry work, Shirley loved sewing and cooking, these interests were a way to express her creativity and show love to those around her.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Saturday, July 13th from 10-11 am. A Funeral Service will follow at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
