Scott Alexander Burns, passed away at the young age of 26 on August 17, 2025, in Baltimore, Maryland. Born on June 16, 1999, Scott was a vibrant soul who left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.
A graduate of Glen Burnie High School, Class of 2017, Scott embarked on a career as a commercial waterman, a calling that reflected his deep love for the water and the outdoors. He found joy in hunting, fishing, and crabbing, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and spend quality time with those he cherished. His passion for the outdoors was further expressed through his active membership in the 1100 Gun Club and the Glenbrook Rifle Association, where he thrived in the camaraderie of like-minded enthusiasts.
Scott's family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his parents, Glen C. Burns and Christina L. Burns; his brother, Brandon E. Burns; his grandmother, Lauren Mayo, his grandfather, Jerry Calabrese, and his uncle, Jerry Calabrese, Jr. and his wife, Peggy. Their influence and love contributed significantly to the man he became. He was also the proud companion of Gunner, his Labrador Retriever, who brought boundless joy to Scott's days; and was also a close friend to Sierra Clapp.
Scott's life was enriched by the memories of those who passed before him, including his grandmother, Catherine Calabrese, and his great-grandparents, Helen Burns, Reese Burns, and Hattie Sunderland. Their legacies lived on in him, shaping his character and values.
As we mourn Scott's loss, we also celebrate a life that, although brief, was filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments in the great outdoors.
