Sandra Joyce McCubbin, born on August 27, 1941, in Baltimore, Maryland, passed away peacefully at her residence on May 4, 2025. She was a beloved figure in the lives of many, leaving an enduring legacy of love, creativity, and warmth that will be cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. From a young age, Sandra embraced life's joys with an artistic spirit. Her passion for crafting shone through her beloved hobbies of crocheting and scrapbooking, where she poured her heart into creating beautiful pieces that reflected her vibrant personality. Each holiday season, her home transformed into a festive wonderland, a testament to her love for decorating and celebrating special occasions.
Sandra had a unique gift for making everyone's birthday feel like a grand event, showering loved ones with attention and affection. Most notably, Sandra found her greatest joy in her family. She was a devoted wife of 38 years to the late James A. McCubbin Jr. and proud mother to Carlene F. Jolliffe, who honored her with the same spirit of kindness and creativity. As a grandmother, she showered her grandchildren—Michael Jolliffe, Brianna Moreau, Olivia Moreau, Lacey McCubbin, and Samantha Jolliffe—with love and adoration, ensuring that each child felt special and cherished. Her home was a hub of familial love, laughter, and encouragement, creating memories that her grandchildren will carry in their hearts forever.
Sandra had a lifelong love for Elvis Presley, finding joy in his music and embodying an effervescent spirit reminiscent of the King himself. Her smile, much like his melodies, brought comfort and happiness to those around her.
She has now been reunited with her beloved parents, Maude and Joseph Gardner, her son, James H. McCubbin, and her daughter, Sharon L. Moreau, who preceded her in death. The bond they shared will continue to inspire and guide her family as they navigate life without her physical presence.
Sandra's legacy will be celebrated during a visitation held on May 9, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services P.A., located at 1 2nd Ave S.W. in Glen Burnie, MD. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, allowing friends and family to come together to share stories and memories of this remarkable woman. As we bid farewell to Sandra Joyce McCubbin, let us carry forward her spirit of creativity, love, and celebration. She will be profoundly missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
